Professor Lucie Thibault will receive the Shaw-Mannell Leisure Research Award recognizing her international contributions to the study of leisure and influence on leisure scholarship in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies. She is a highly recognized scholar in sport management focusing on the impacts of global sport events and community sport participation, and won the Earle F Zeigler Award in 2008 which is the most prestigious research award given by the North American Society of Sport Management (NASSM).
