Saturday, November 21, 2015 9:00 am - 3:00 pm EST (GMT -05:00)

Student volunteers play parachute game with group of kids.

Students from the University of Waterloo will offer a day of free family programming in the community on Saturday.

The students from the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies will present Waterloo West Neighbourhood Fest at the John M. Harper Branch of the Waterloo Public Library and the Stork Family YMCA.

The event will include a variety of engaging activities for children ranging in age from two to 12 years old. Among the scheduled events, children can learn about chemical reactions as they make their own playdough, jump in the pool for junior triathlon training, and find out which would be their Hogwarts house they belong to in an activity based on Harry Potter. Parents accompanying children to the event will receive free admission to YMCA facilities that day. There were more than 250 participants last year.

See Waterloo West Neighbourhood Fest for details including the day's schedule of activities.
