Michelle is a Live Events Coordinator for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. Michelle is responsible for the planning and execution of live ticketed events at Ricoh Coliseum, BMO Field, and The Air Canada Centre. She is accountable for the chair sets, staffing, set-up requirements and financials of all events assigned. Specific events Michelle has managed include WWE Live Wrestling, The Toronto Rock, Harlem Globetrotters, The Wiggles, The International Boat Show and various ethnic concerts. In addition to event and venue management, Michelle manages a team of part-time event operations staff.
With the flexibility of her degree, Michelle was able to gain a substantial theoretical understanding of business management, in particular to event planning and how to motivate a team to successfully deliver products and services. Over the years Michelle has been able to put her education and knowledge into practice through a diverse range of international event opportunities. She worked at the London 2012 Summer Olympics as a Venue Manager planning the installation and operations of an athlete training venue, and has also worked for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, the 2010 Toronto G20 Summit and the 2009 World Police & Fire Games.
Prior to her current role, Michelle was the Meeting and Event Assistant at the Ontario Dental Association where she helped with the planning and execution of the annual conference hosting 11,000 attendees, 300 exhibitors, and 60 speakers.
Achieving work-life balance is important to Michelle and she strives to find balance by enjoying her time off with family and friends, cooking, and remaining active.
