Service

Brief Description of service
AccessAbility Services
  • Provides services, support, and academic accommodations for UWaterloo students who have a permanent disability as well as those with a temporary disability.
Athletics and Recreation
  • Varsity sports, intramural and sports clubs, aquatics, first aid, conditioning, fitness and wellness, equipment loans, facility hours.
Centre for Teaching Excellence
  • Provides workshops, small-group practice teaching sessions (microteaching), classroom observations and other sessions that help prepare graduate students at uWaterloo for their teaching roles.
  • Certificate programs: Fundamentals of University Teaching, Certificate in University Teaching, Certificate in University Language Teaching.
Counselling Services
  • Offers several resources to support students, including coping skills seminars, workshops, therapy groups, individual appointments, mental health training, etc.
Federation of Students
  • The undergraduate student union at the University of Waterloo which is run by students and driven by students
  • Represents students by a number of elected student postions for the Students' Council, Board of Directors, and Feds Executive.
  • FEDS missions is to serve, empower, and represent the undergraduate students of the University of Waterloo

Health Services (for individual students)

Health Services (Family Health Clinic - for students with families)

  • Health Services provides primary medical care for all registered UWaterloo students.
  • UWaterloo Family Health clinic provides registered students, their spouses and children medical care.
Library
  • Locations and hours, borrowing services, special and archival collections, equipment loans, study space, photocopying and scanning, research data management, open access scholarly journal publishing, etc.
Student Success Office (SSO)
  • Writing help, study skills, tutoring, international and entrepreneurship support
Writing and Communication Centre
  • Develop your scholarly voice, build strategies for tackling your research paper, article, presentation, thesis or dissertation.
  • Writing appointments, tutorials, drop-in sessions, writing groups, workshops, English speaking and writing practice
