On November 7 & 8, 2019, Renison welcomed delegates from nearly 25 universities and 1 college from across Canada to talk about anti-racism efforts in Canadian post-secondary institutions. The energy was high over the two day conference, which aimed to create momentum to build a national Anti-Racism Task Force as a resource for institutions.

The conference opened with a smudging ceremony performed by Amy Smoke and Lori Campbell, followed by opening remarks from Dr. James Rush the University of Waterloo's Vice-President Academic & Provost, Dr. Wendy Fletcher, President of Renison, and Dr. Kofi Campbell, VP Academic of Renison. Guest speakers and facilitators over the two days included Dr. Malinda Smith (keynote speaker), Dr. Laura Mae Lindo, Patrick Case, Dr. Sobia Shaikh, Lori Campbell, Dr. Kathy Hogarth, Victoria Rodney, Fiqir Worku, Dr. Christopher Taylor, and Dr. Ciann Wilson.

Over two days, participants explored the subject of equity on campus. From data collection and systemic issues that promote racism on campus, to students sharing personal experiences, the conference took a look at how racism is being handled on campuses nationwide.
