About the Speaker: Currently visiting Canada, Asim Ali, is a professor of English literature and Linguistics at the King Saud University. He has also taught for a number of years at Aligarh Muslim University, India. Aside from his study of English and Urdu literature, especially Urdu ghazal poetry, he had published extensively, in Urdu and English, on modern Muslim thinkers and reformers of the Indian subcontinent, Islamic mysticism, and Quranic studies.
