Through this program, participants will explore the Chinese language, culture and society using a "living textbook" to achieve an insightful understanding of the history and civilization of the world's most populous nation.
This is a six week program that takes place in four legendary places in China. All the classroom lectures will be conducted in a top university in Shanghai. The lessons and lectures will include Mandarin language learning and different forms of Chinese art. The program also includes ten-days travel in China, as a field trip of cultural explorations in representative cities in China such as Xi'an and Beijing.
Besides providing an opportunity to learn and practise Chinese in a Mandarin-speaking environment, the Study in China Program explores Chinese culture and society through lectures and cultural excursions in important historical cities, and smaller towns.
Through lectures, field trips and daily life, students will also gain a better understanding of the changing traditional values and the challenges facing China in adapting from its former economic and political system to a market economy.
