January 5, 2023: Face Coverings Now Optional

Renison University College is committed to the health and well-being of all of our community of students, faculty, staff and community members. We recognize and appreciate that our community is made up of a diverse group of individuals, many of whom have a heightened risk of complications as they relate to COVID-19 and its variants, and we thank everyone for considering the needs of others in our community when engaging in activities that bring you in close proximity to other community members.

An Interview with Chiara, a 2023 JACAC Participant

Meet Chiara (she/her), a student at UW who is in her 3A term of Honours Arts, majoring in Political Science and minoring in Speech Communications. On behalf of Renison and UW, Chiara, shown here at the Canadian Embassy in Japan, traveled to Japan this year as she participated in JACAC, the Japan-Canada Academic Consortium. Renison Celebrates International Women's Day

On Wednesday, March 8, Renison celebrated with the world to commemorate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women in honour of International Women’s Day. 

A booth was placed in the Renison Atrium where staff and students could creatively share the names of women that inspire them, receive a button, and learn more about the global celebration.

Celebrating the Contributions of Dr. M'Timkulu

In honour of Black History Month, we would like to highlight the impact that Dr. Donald G. S. M'Timkulu (1908-2000) made to Renison University College. He was hired in 1960 as a Sociology professor, and was well known for his course “Race and Culture in the Third World.”

Renison mourns the passing of Michael Smyth

It is with deep sadness that Renison University College announces the passing of long-time faculty member and former Associate Dean, Dr. Michael Smyth. Michael joined Renison in 1975 as a professor of Psychology in the College’s young Social Development Studies program. He quickly became a very popular lecturer, loved by students and colleagues alike.
