Renison mourns the passing of its last living Founder

It is with sadness, but with profound gratitude, that Renison University College relays the news that our last living founder, The Venerable Harvey Southcott, passed away on August 6, 2018 at the age of 93.

Annual Life Safety Systems Testing

Inspection and testing of the facility life-safety systems is required annually.  Our service provider, Tyco/Simplex-Grinnell, is on-site Thursday August 23rd – Tuesday August 28th, along with numerous contractors.

The inspection will involve ringing the fire bells, which is scheduled for this Monday, August 27.  This involves short, intermittent ringing throughout the day.  Evacuation is not required unless directed by Facilities staff in person.

Three of eight LITE grants awarded to Renison faculty for innovative teaching projects

The Office of the Associate Vice President, Academic and the Centre for Teaching Excellence have announced the recipients of the latest round of Learning Innovation and Teaching Enhancement (LITE) seed grants. Three of the eight grants were awarded to Renison University College faculty.

Renison student takes first prize in Canada National Japanese Speech Contest

Elli Li, an Accounting and Finanical Management student who is also studying the Japanese language at Renison, has won first place in the Intermediate Category at the 29th Canada National Japanese Speech Contest.

Renison professor awarded UWaterloo Faculty Association's Equity and Inclusivity Award

Renison Professor Christine Logel, along with three other awardees, is the recipient of this year’s Equity and Inclusivity Award, presented by the Equity Committee of the University of Waterloo’s Faculty Association. Rather than present only one award, the committee felt that it needed to break with tradition and select multiple winners given the number and quality of nominees.
