Renison friend and supporter Keith Hipel recently received the prestigious Killam Prize for his work in Engineering. The prizes, presented by the Canada Council for the Arts, are awarded to scholars who have made significant contributions to their field. Hipel has been a professor at the University of Waterloo for more than 40 years, and is the fifth professor at the university to win a Killam Prize since the program began in the early 1980s. In addition to his work at Waterloo, Hipel is also Board Member and Honorary Senior Fellow at Renison University College. The awards ceremony will take place in Ottawa on May 21st as part of Canadian Innovation week.
