East-West Music Series at Renison University College November 3, 2010
WATERLOO, Ontario (October 29, 2010) – On Wednesday, November 3, 2010, Renison University College will be hosting the inaugural East-West Music Series, a unique series of concerts that explores music originating in or influenced by Eastern culture.
The theme of the series is “Home,” and this theme will be explored through a variety of traditional songs performed in a range of styles by guest artists and the new East-West Music Ensemble. Stories from local residents are woven with the songs to form a unique concert experience. The East-West Music Series will also feature educational presentations and workshops.
The event kicks off at 7:30 pm in Renison’s Great Hall. The East-West Music Series is an official event of Renison University College’s East Asian Festival and is a partnership between the Department of East Asian Studies at Renison and the Department of Music at Conrad Grebel University College.
