The members of the KDE Hub welcomed the Renison community for an open house last week, introducing their new space - in a part of the building many had never set foot in! The KDE Hub, which opened at Renison in July, is part of the Public Health Agency of Canada's Mental Health Promotion Innovation Fund. The Fund will also invest in 20 projects across the country, all focused on reducing risk factors and improving protective factors for mental health among diverse groups of children and youth (e.g., early years, school-aged, youth transition years, Indigenous youth).
The KDE Hub will support research within and across projects, and knowledge sharing within an emerging mental health promotion community in Canada. The parallels between the research and work being conducted in our School of Social Work and within Social Development Studies should allow for great opportunities for collaboration and shared learning experiences.
