Keiko Belair honoured for her contributions to promoting the Japanese language and the welfare of Japanese nationals and Japanese Canadians

On Oct. 30, Keiko Belair was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays by the Consul-General of Japan, Sasayama Takuya. This prestigious award recognizes Ms. Belair’s contributions to promoting Japanese language and the welfare of both Japanese nationals and Japanese Canadians.

Ms. Belair has a long history with Renison as an instructor of Japanese language. She also promoted Japanese language education throughout the Region of Waterloo, and was instrumental in the establishment of Renison’s Sakura Japanese Language School in 2011. Additionally, Ms. Belair is both an Honorary Senior Fellow of Renison, and Honorary Chair and Special Advisor for the Sakura Language Program. We extend our sincere congratulations to Ms. Belair on her receipt of this award.
