The Waterloo King Sejong Institute hosted its first ever Korean Speech Contest today, and it was a great success!
Contestants from diverse backgrounds and experience learning Korean participated to create an exciting and close competition.
Ultimately, Cathy Jiaxin Wang took first place with an entertaining speech that incorporated popular Korean cultural references and humorous dialect usage. We wish her the best of luck, as her video will be among the KSI winners around the world to be considered for the grand prize trip to Korea!
Renison’s King Sejong Institute plans to host another Korean speech competition next year, and the institute will continue to offer events and non-credit courses, with courses set to begin the week of September 21, 2015.
