On October 7, Korean language student Jiaxin Cathy Wang won the Grand prize at the International Korean Speech Contest held by the King Sejong Institute (KSI) Foundation in Seoul, Korea. She beat out 1,077 contestants from 44 countries and 88 locations. Their were 16 finalists and Cathy won the Grand Prize. The grand prize includes a Samsung laptop and 6 months of intensive Korean language and cultural studies in Korea, fully funded by Korean government (including accommodation and airfare). Congratulations Cathy, and all the hard work of those at Renison's KSI who helped coach and encourage her!
