Physical, Visual, Auditory, Invisible(May 19, 2016) In the Winter 2016 term, Renison Academic Student Council (RASC) President Kayla Wright, on behalf of Renison residents and registered academic students, applied for funding from the Student Life Endowment Fund after a group of involved students were consulted about possible funding requests. After much consultation it was determined that replacing an outdated water fountain and adding a new fountain would allow students to have more options for filling reusable water bottles and as well as be more accessible for all Renison students.

We are happy to announce that On April 21st, the Student Life Endowment Fund decided to award the Renison Students with $3,228, fully funding the purchase of two new water fountains for Renison University College. The Student Life Endowment Fund is run by the Federation of Students with the mandate to help students who want to improve lounges, student space and accessibility on campus.

The water fountain beside Renison’s Welcome Centre will be replaced with a new fountain with a water bottle filling station. Additionally, a new water fountain with bottle filling station will be installed by the bathroom in Renison newest academic building. The cost of installation will be covered by RASC and the Renisix Residence Council.

Accessibility Matters at Renison seeks to identify real and potential barriers to accessibility and promote universal design principles across the college. We welcome your suggestions and your participation in this important endeavour.
