This past weekend, Renison welcomed university students from across Ontario for an annual competition of Chinese language skills. Coordinated by Renison’s Professor Yan Li with the support of Toronto’s Chinese Consulate, contestants demonstrated their Chinese language skills throughout the competition, which included speeches and a talent show. Among the highlights were Chinese songs, Tai Chi, traditional folk music, tongue twisters, Bejing Opera, and a puppet show.
With gratitude, we acknowledge that Renison University College is located on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Hodinohsyó:ni, and Attawandaran (Neutral) Peoples, which is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes ten kilometres on each side of the Grand River from mouth to source.
