Renison University College students celebrated their Spring Convocation on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. The convocation portion of the day took place at Humanities Theatre followed by the graduates being led by the piper back to Renison for lunch refreshments.
This marks the first convocation presided over by Renison's new Chancellor, Dr. Manfred Conrad who was invested on May 7th of this year succeeding The Right Rev’d D. Ralph Spence who served as Chancellor for two terms, beginning in 2008.
A valedictory address was given by Angelina Sherbakov and a welcome to the incoming alumni was provided by Kristin Fox, BA (SDS) ‘09, BSW ‘10.
Professor Colleen McMillan was awarded the Teaching Excellence Award while other honorees included Jessica Lynn Thier for the Renison University College Gold Medal, Iffat Sana Khaliq for the Principal's Special Award for Academic Achievement, Andrea Justina Timbury for the Social Development Studies Book Prize for Academic Achievement, Margaret Elizabeth Ruth Girodat for the Principal's Merit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Life at Renison, and Alexandra Leigh Toomey Siebert for the Marguerite DuBois Prize for Applied Language Studies.
