Photo of Alex McEwinOn Tuesday, May 2, Renison student Alex McEwin was featured in The Stratford Beacon Herald for his efforts to raise awareness and funds for multiple sclerosis (MS). McEwin has a special interest in the subject as he was recently diagnosed with the disease. He enrolled in Social Development Studies at Renison with the aim of focusing on psychology.

The story in The Beacon-Herald explains McEwin's thinking: "I'm really interested in psychology and looking at brains. I don't know if it was getting the diagnosis that got me to thinking 'I need to find out everything about this,'” McEwin said, noting he wasn't very focused on math or science courses in high school."

The article reported on McEwin's innovative approach to his participation in the Mandarin MS Walk in Stratford: “Team Valor, which McEwin is captaining, has already crushed its goal, raising more than twice the $350 target. The artistic McEwin designed buttons with the team logo to give to donors, even enticing some high school and university students to chip in for the swag."

Keep up the good work, Alex!
