June 8, 2006 - TechTown Ground Breaking in UW Research + Technology Park

Waterloo, ON – May 24, 2006 – TechTown, a development planned by Columbia Developments Inc., today announced that it is holding a ground breaking ceremony at it’s building site at 340 Hagey Blvd. on June 8, 2006 at 2pm.

TechTown is a professional services building being constructed in the University of Waterloo Research + Technology Park.  TechTown is designed to meet the needs of the technology and professional communities, as well as the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University.  The building will provide space for Columbia Lake health club, Kids and Company daycare, a restaurant/coffee shop, medical centre and financial services.

Toby Jenkins, developer of TechTown said: “The services in TechTown are designed to meet the needs of the technology and professional communities in Waterloo.  It is our intent that this building will become the community centre for the Research Park and the surrounding area.”

"TechTown is tremendous added value for existing and new tenants to the UW Research + Technology Park. The planned amenities were designed in collaboration with the technology companies located in and around the Park,” said Carol Stewart, Business Development Manager for the Research Park.  “The employees working in the Park will greatly benefit from having these services centralized in one convenient location."

Construction is underway and the building is scheduled for completion in January 2007.
