Cybercity Conference

The CyberCity Conference is planned for October 1.

The goal of the conference is to bring companies and professionals in the region to share a common passion and help put Waterloo Region on the map as Canada's CyberCity.

With the growing shortage of cybersecurity professionals, the conference will showcase Waterloo Region as a cybersecurity hub of talent to attract more professionals and cybersecurity companies to the region. The conference will also highlight cybersecurity as a challenging and rewarding career path to entice more people to join it.

Waterloo faculty members (both emerging and established scholars) are invited to learn more about tools and strategies to help improve their SSHRC grant applications. Hosted by the Office of Research, these SSHRC Tools and Resources Training (START) workshops will cover the most challenging sections of the typical SSHRC grant application.

78% of 2018 START attendees who applied for the SSHRC Insight Grant were successful.  This is 34% higher than the national success rate.
