An update on H2020 program and related EU policies and publication of new calls for research proposals in various fields for 2016/2017. In addition, a roundtable discussion on best practices in proposal development. Waterloo’s International Research Partnerships EU Grants will be highlighted, a seed grant program to facilitate joint research programs with leading European research entities.
Facilitated by Luigi Scarpa de Masellis, advisor, economic and commercial affairs, delegation of the European Union to Canada, the info-sessions will feature an overview of the following:
- EU 2020 – 10 year strategy to make the EU the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world
- Horizon 2020 – main funding program for research and innovation
- Innovation Union – flagship initiative of EU 2020 to promote innovation in the EU
- European Research Area – strategy to create a Europe-wide single market for research, innovation and knowledge
