Peace and recovery programme - Innovations for Poverty Action, US and other funders: Proposals are encouraged for field experiments and related research focused on reducing violence and fragility, promoting peace, and preventing, managing and recovering from crises. A number of topics of study are encouraged including recovery responses after violence, conflict, natural disasters or crises, including COVID-19.

UKRI: COVID-19 Grants: Proposals are invited for short-term projects addressing and mitigating the health, social, economic, cultural, and environmental impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak. Lead investigators must be based in the UK, however, projects may include international co-investigators. Funding is dependent on the needs of individual project. (Deadline: Ongoing)

AWS diagnostic development initiative: Amazon Web Services, on behalf of Amazon, invites proposals for its diagnostic development initiative to support innovation in rapid and accurate patient testing for COVID-19 and other diagnostic solutions to mitigate future outbreaks.

OCE-Voucher for Innovation and Productivity (VIP) program: Funding for COVID-19 R&D collaborations between companies and publicly funded university/research hospitals. Alternate matching requirement will be considered for OCE funding between $20,000 and $100,000 on a case by case basis. C3.ai Digital Transformation Institute: First Call for Proposals - Mitigation of COVID-19 and Future Pandemics: Seeking proposals that catalyze co-operative research activities and advances in machine learning and other AI subdisciplines, analytics, statistical analysis, and advanced computing research. COVID-19 Research Grants: Google is partnering with the Harvard Global Health Institute to fund government agencies, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions working on COVID-19 research.

Ministry of Defence, GB Open Call for rapid impact innovation: Ministry of Defence, under the Defence and Security Accelerator programme and in partnership with Innovate UK, invites proposals for its rapid impact innovation call. This supports defence and security innovation projects, which have a realistic prospect of achieving an impact within a three-year time frame from the commencement of the project. Global Research Collaboration for Infectious Disease Preparedness (GloPID-R): CEPI: The main focus of this call for proposals is to support the research and development of novel immunogens (i.e.: antigens that elicit an adaptive immune response) for use in vaccines that can elicit durable, broadly protective immune responses. This opportunity is open, worldwide, to research and development organisations with expertise in vaccine development. Specifically, proposals should aim to develop a broadly protective Betacoronavirus (BPBC) vaccine with funding potentially awarded for up to four years to demonstrate clinical POC. The total call budget is $200,000,000 USD ($250,299,000 CAD). The deadline is October 1, 2021.
