Government of Canada awards $1.2 million for research on Nunavut fisheries

Heidi Swanson$1.2 million has been awarded to Waterloo researcher Heidi Swanson from the Government of Canada’s $75 million Coastal Restoration Fund to perform community-partnered research. The funding announced by Fisheries and Oceans Canada will support a project to restore fish in the Coppermine River and other river systems near Kugluktuk, Nunavut and is part of the $1.5 billion Ocean Protections Plan.
