Researchers at the University of Waterloo and the University Grenoble Alpes (UGA) will explore collaborative research in a variety of areas as part of a research based Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under development. The areas of potential research collaboration are:
- sustainable energy
- circular economy
- disaster management/climate adaptation
- chemistry and health sciences
- medical related bioengineering and biotechnology
- artificial intelligence
Development of the MOU was based on a Waterloo delegation attending Global Challenges Science Week held at UGA in France where over 600 scientists, experts, and stakeholders from around the world shared research results, debated transdisciplinary issues, and explored international collaborations to manage global issues.
Partial funding for Waterloo’s participation with five attendees who explored research connections with UGA-flagship projects, cross-disciplinary programs, associated labs, and academic departments was provided by Cultural and Scientific Services French Embassy in Canada.
