Science researcher awarded grant to study COVID-19 immunity within Waterloo community

Monday, February 22, 2021

While many university classes across Canada are being held online, some programs require in-person learning and access to on-campus and off-campus research and learning facilities. This increases the risk of exposure for students, faculty and staff to SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing COVID-19.

To address this, the Government of Canada is investing funds through Canada’s COVID-19 Immunity Task Force (CITF) to support research led by Biology Professor Brian Dixon which will examine SARS-CoV-2 transmission and immunity within the University of Waterloo community.

Professor Dixon's research is one of two studies of transmission and immunity at universities announced recently.
