Alyssa joined the Research Partnerships team in 2023, bringing more than four years of experience connecting industry to the University of Waterloo innovation ecosystem. She works with professors and companies to match interests for the purposes of collaborative research and commercialization projects in the fields of water, climate, earth and environmental science, health, smart cities, ICT and selected social science disciplines. This includes identifying appropriate government funding and facilitating agreements, contracts and project proposals for funding applications. Her previous experience at the university includes technical writing, project management and business development in Engineering, the Office of Research and Co-operative Education departments, respectively. Prior to joining UWaterloo, Alyssa worked in the environmental consulting industry for many years with a focus on brownfield remediation, hydrogeology, and related technical areas. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Waterloo, a Masters of Environmental Science from the University of Guelph, and a post-graduate diploma in Environmental Engineering from Conestoga College.
