External - Local robotics company founded by mechatronics alumni secures more backing

Waterloo Engineering alumni company Clearpath Robotics has secured an additional US $5 million to fuel global growth of Otto Motors, its industrial division.

The investment boosts the total of its latest round of financial backing to US $34 million following the announcement in June of US $29 million.

REEM-C arrives on campus to work with RoboHub researchers

RoboHub's very own Katja Mombaur and her team of graduate and post-doctoral students are starting their work with REEM-C, the newest humanoid robot at Waterloo. At 165 centimetres tall and 80 kilograms in weight, REEM-C is described as the 'slightly smaller and lighter brother' of TALOS, the RoboHub's full-size humanoid robot.

RoboHub collaborator secures $350k in backing gaming technology

RoboHub collaborator Ning Jiang, a Professor in Systems Design Engineering and co-founder of Brink Bionics, has secured $350,00 in seed funding to commercialize innovative technology for the gaming industry.
