MSc. Student

Head shot of Calvin in Alberta’s Rocky MountainsI graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Honours Sciences with a minor in Biology at the University of Waterloo in 2018. During this time, I completed a Senior Honours Project with the Rooney Lab studying rooting depths and below ground biomass of invasive European Reed, Phragmites australis, in Long Point, Ontario.
Currently, I have the pleasure of continuing my studies at the University of Waterloo, where I am pursuing a Master of Science in Biology with a Water specialization through the Water Institute’s Collaborative Water Program. My research brings me to the peatlands of the upper Bow River region in Alberta’s Rocky Mountains to characterize the vascular plant and bryophyte communities across an elevation gradient. I am pleased to receive support from a NSERC CGS-M scholarship to continue this fantastic work.
