I attended the University of Victoria and obtained a double major undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and Geography. Additionally, I received a post-graduate certificate from Niagara College in Ecosystem Restoration. I have previously worked for a non-profit organization as a Forest Species at Risk Researcher. This field experience was focused on bird identification and nest searching. Joining Dr. Rooney’s lab has provided me with the opportunity to learn about wetland systems and improve my plant identification skills. My work focuses on locating an endangered plant along the northern shore of Lake Erie and gaining insight into how Phragmites australis has impacted this species.
