I am working in conjunction with Dr. Rooney and Ducks Unlimited Canada to assess whether created wetlands in agricultural landscapes provide suitable habitat for aquatic and semi-aquatic invertebrates. My past academic work has looked at adult dragonfly behaviour and how it affects larval dragonfly distributions, as well as how the behaviour of juvenile mussels affects how they establish at a habitat. In general, I am interested in looking at the mechanisms driving species’ distributions, particularly with species that are impacted by conditions in both aquatic and terrestrial systems, and applying this knowledge to problems in conservation.
