Want to be the driver of positive change both locally and globally? After attending a guest lecture in the INDEV 101 lecture series by Dr. Michaela Hynie, identifying and understanding culture has been suggested a good place to start to create developmental change.

“I sing to open my heart for connection and communication in the cultural response to global environmental change. I sing as a way to demonstrate my humanity and empathy for Inuit culture and our history of colonization and marginalization of these people. I sing as a way to process the knowledge I am surrounded by in this PhD work on Inuit and Arctic climate change.”

Our very own Lesley Sovran, Environment and Business '10 grad is featured this week in NOW Toronto, talking about her job at Home Depot Canada as Environmental Operations Leader. Congratulations Lesley on being recognized as an Environment and Business leader!

Congratulations to Dr. Amelia Clarke for her recent SSHRC Insight Grant competition funding award! Her research project entitled, “Cross-sector Social Partnerships for the Implementation of Community Sustainability Strategies: A Study on the Relationships between Collaborative Structures and Outcomes” will receive funding over the next 5 years for the total amount of $330,233.
