The Launch Your Career event (LYC) is hosted by the Experiential Learning and Career Development team, and it will be your first of many professional events as a School of Accounting and Finance student.
This event is designed to:
Working in their Crews, host Eagle's Flight will guide year 1 students in AFM, Math/CPA, and Science BioTech/CPA through an experiential learning exercise that will require team and individual skills for decision making, prioritizing, and strategizing.
Dinner will be served at St. George Banquet Hall, and buses to take students from Hagey Hall to St. George Banquet Hall will arrive at 4:30 p.m. and return students to campus at about 9:30 p.m.

This session is for Year 1 AFM students and will discuss such topics as how to meeet the requirements of the AFM program, how to handle exams, and what to do if you are sick during the exam season.
We will cover how to pick an elective for the winter term.
This is a good time to have your questions answered about degree requirements and mark expectations.
This session will take place directly after the Academic Integrity Session which is held in the same room from 7:00 - 7:50 p.m.
This is an "Experience Matters" required event.
Academic Integrity is the a foundation of your integrity as a professional.
Integrity is something that is built in each situation you are in. The environment you are working in will indicate what the pitfalls are to acting with integrity on all occasions.
This "Experience Matters" required event will talk with you about what the University sees as acting with integrity in class, in exams, in your Crews, and in the assessments or papers that you hand in.

The objectives of the SAF Crews initiative are to:
1.Foster greater two-way communication between students and faculty/staff
2.Create a support network for each student, a group of students with whom they can study, collaborate and draw support from as they transition into the university setting
3.Encourage students to more fully integrate extracurricular experiences into the undergraduate program
Team up with your SAF crew and go on a quest around campus. The first team to finish wins some UW Merchandise!

This lunch is for MATH/CPA and CFM students to meet each other and the faculty and staff who will be important to the success of first year.

Students will meet each other, upper year students, and their first year professors. Knowing that working together to achieve the goals in each of these areas will make success possible.
AFM Academic Orientation is from 9:00 - 12:00 p.m. in the Theatre of the Arts, in the Modern Languages Building.
PFC is a 2-day conference hosted by the Experiential Learning and Career Development team. This event prepares incoming 2A students for their first co-op job search by developing the skills they will need to be a successful job-search strategist and the skills they will need to excel on the job.
Date: September 5th and 6th 2017
Times: Day 1: 9:00 am to 7:00 pm
Day 2: 8:45 am to 5:00 pm
Who should attend?
Incoming 2A students who are preparing for their first co-op job search and work term.
As a part of our partnership with DECA, the School of Accounting and Finance will be co-hosting the 2017 DECA Leadership Summit, an event designed to enhance your communication, leadership, and networking skills through workshops and activities.
This 2.5 day conference will be a great opportunity to network with other DECA students, and prepare you for the next year of competitions.
Come and celebrate a great first year in the SAF. Class of 2021 accounting and finance students joined by faculty, staff, and student leaders will drum alongside the Drum Cafe performers. Music is teamwork and the SAF community is a team.
