At the SAF, we aspire to develop a new approach to accounting and finance education. Technology is transforming the accounting and finance professions. For some, this wave of change breeds anxiety. However, we see opportunity in the transformation—both for the professions and for our future financial professionals. But to realize the opportunities, education must change to better equip our future financial leaders. We have the faculty members and unique learning environment required to lead this change.
Our faculty members’ skills as teachers have been recognized with a range of awards for excellence from the university’s Distinguished Teacher Award to awards from peers in academic accounting associations.
Our learning environment extends experiential education beyond co-op into the classroom with a combination of authentic learning experiences and problem-based learning (PBL), developing graduates who combine team-based problem-solving skills with evidence-based decision-making.
