Science and Business student Manav Kainth wins People's Choice Award

This term, Manav Kainth, a 3B student in Science and Business (non-specialized) chose to live at GreenHouse - a social innovation incubator located in St. Paul's University College.  GreenHouse provides students with the resources to launch a social venture or initiative - which includes weekly mentorship, a supportive community, a professional network and available funding. Each term, there is the Social Impact Showcase, where a handful of students present their idea to a public audience for support.

WatSolve team wins Fusion Conference case competition

Three delegates represented the WatSolve Consulting Group, a pro-bono student-based consulting group within the University of Waterloo’s Science and Business Program, at this year’s Fusion Case Conference. The team tied for first place, receiving a $1,500 cash prize.

Science and Business students explore the impact of AI in the clinical diagnostic process

Breast cancer is one of the most commonly misdiagnosed types of cancer, but what if there was a way to decrease the odds of misdiagnosis? As part of the first-ever Science and Business Capstone project, four students proposed a way to implement artificial intelligence (AI) in the diagnosis process that can help assist doctors in making the right call.
