This term, Manav Kainth, a 3B student in Science and Business (non-specialized) chose to live at GreenHouse - a social innovation incubator located in St. Paul's University College. GreenHouse provides students with the resources to launch a social venture or initiative - which includes weekly mentorship, a supportive community, a professional network and available funding. Each term, there is the Social Impact Showcase, where a handful of students present their idea to a public audience for support.
On Monday December 3rd, Manav Kainth, Aileen Agada, Sayooja Saju, Sara Velasquez and Anna Kuepfer each presented their social initiatives. These innovators each demonstrated early-stage customer validation or idea testing (i.e. prototype, pilot, market research) and a plan for how they will implement their idea over the coming year. Manav utilized the leadership skills and business acumen that he has developed in the SCBUS program while living in GreenHouse and his idea was chosen as the People's Choice Award and received a $1,000 grant!
Congratulations to Manav on his Campus Wellness Initiative!
