Join the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences for a half-day research symposium as part of their annual Farvolden Lecture Series.<--break->

Registration opens at 8:30 am, DC 1301 - the symposium begins at 9:00 am. Featuring presentations by:

Dr. Christina SmeatonResearch Scientist, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Ecohydrology Research Group, University of WaterlooLiving on the energetic edge: Predicting microbial growth in low energy environments.

Prof. Nandita BasuAssistant Professor, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Department of Civil EngineeringDown Under: The Critical Role of the Subsurface in Controlling Surface Water Pollution.

Plus Three-minute Thesis presentations by graduate students Elaine Secord, Sean Morrison, Shawn Scott.

The Farvolden Lecture follows at 2:00 pm in the Humanities Theatre, Hagey Hall, University of Waterloo

The day ends with a reception in the first floor foyer of EIT.
