In addition to his Darcy Lecture on Friday September 30th at 2:00pm, Prof. Ferré is giving a 3-hour modelling course to discuss the interaction of data, models, and decision support with hands on exercises to examine approaches to improve the efficiency of data collection efforts in hydrogeology.

Women in Science is offering a free self-defence workshop. This event is a 2 hour class focusing on escape tactics, including physical and verbal techniques. There will also be a discussion on sexual assault and violence.

The course is taught by certified instructors who are part of the UWaterloo Karate and Jujitsu Club.

Come out to learn some self-defence, gain confidence, and network with other women in STEM fields!
