The Science Teaching Complex at the University of Waterloo invites our community through its doors as part of Doors Open Waterloo Region. Experience hands-on science activities and guided tours, listen to mini-lectures on various science topics, and meet with student clubs at this new home for Waterloo Science students that provides them with the resources they need to succeed. Event runs 10:00am to 5:00pm.
Science student clubs, student support services, laboratories and lecture theatres all share space in the Science Teaching Complex. Explore it with us!
Tours start at 11am and leave every hour until 3:30pm. Groups will be limited to 20 participants. Tours are 30 minutes long and include stairs (elevator access is available). Strollers and small children are not allowed in the labs, where short demonstrations will be provided.
The basement and ground floor levels are open to the public. Follow your nose to Starbucks, pick up a plush microbe at MediaDoc, discover our student-designed “Light Illuminated” exhibit, or chat to the students in the club rooms.
Experience learning in our biggest lecture theatre, as our Science students do! Short sessions led by Science lecturers start every half-hour from 11:15am-3:45pm in STC 1012.
Science explorations to keep kids and adults intrigued as they wait for tour or mini-lecture starts.
