Zero to c in 60 minutes: a crash course in relativity

Please join the Faculty of Science and the Guelph-Waterloo Physics Institute for this year's Distinguished Lecturer Series featuring Professor Ramamurti Shankar from Yale University.

Professor R. Shankar is a John Randolph Huffman Professor of Physics and Applied Physics at Yale and is best known for his research in theoretical condensed matter physics.

He is also an enthusiastic educator; with popular introductory physics videos that have been viewed more than a million times online.

Professor R. Shankar's lecture will offer a gentle introduction to some of the key ideas in relativity and will provide a brief history of past discoveries that set the stage for Einstein's work. It is aimed at the general public and all that is required is an open mind.
