The second international Polar Data Forum (PDF II) will be held at the University of Waterloo in October of this year. The Forum will provide a critically important venue for showcasing polar data initiatives, to learn from global partners and work collaboratively to continue developing an international vision and action plan.
This is a time of rapid environmental change in the Arctic and Antarctic. It is important to begin advocating strongly for open data sharing among the future generation of polar researchers so that the potential for scientific discovery and polar stewardship are maximized.
PDF II provides a unique opportunity for coordination and information exchange regarding open polar data sharing between data managers, researchers and graduate students through a series of planned workshops, oral presentations and poster presentations.
Abstracts will be accepted now until July 1, 2015.
Additionally, presenters will have the opportunity to publish peer-reviewed Forum Papers in a planned special issue of the CODATA Data Science Journal.
