You’re invited to attend an intimate meet and greet with Nobel Laureate and University of Waterloo physics professor, Dr. Donna Strickland.
Strickland, who helped revolutionize laser physics, was awarded her Nobel Prize in Physics in Sweden late last year. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences stated that Strickland paved the way toward the shortest and most intense laser pulses created by mankind. Her revolutionary article was published in 1985 with research partner and fellow award Nobel Prize recipient, Gérard Mourou, and was the foundation of Strickland’s doctoral thesis.
Tickets are free for alumni and a guest, however registration by May 1, 2019 is required.
Light refreshments and hor d'oeuvres will be served during the cocktail reption. Casual business attire is expected.
