The University of Waterloo and the Faculty of Science are celebrating the launch of the Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics!  Please join us for an exclusive cocktail reception where you'll have the opportunity to meet astrophysics faculty and learn more about the thrilling research that promises to redefine our knowledge of the universe.

Dr. Will Percival, Director of the Centre and the Mike & Ophelia Lazaridis Distinguished Chair in Astrophysics, will be your host and offer insight as to the incredible future of Waterloo's newest academic gem. UW President and Vice-Chancellor, Feridun Hamdullahpur and Dean of Science, Bob Lemieux will offer special remarks during the reception as well.

Following the reception, UW welcomes world-renowned astrophysicist Dr. Christine Jones Forman as she presents "Black Holes, Dark Matter and Dark Energy: Exploring the Invisible Universe". Dr. Forman is a senior astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. She is the past president of the American Astronomical Society, and director of the Smithsonian Institution's Consortium for Unlocking the Mysteries of the Universe.
