Waterloo Pharmacy Public Lecture: The Opioid CrisisExport this event to calendar

Thursday, November 10, 2016 — 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST

Prescription opioids play an essential role in minimizing the pain and suffering of patients across our healthcare sector. However, opioids have quickly become a prescription drug problem: they are highly addictive, often misused, and can lead to injury and death.

Join our panel discussion on opioid use and misuse in Waterloo Region:

  • Dr. Michael Beazely discusses what opioids are and how we've reached the 'opioid crisis' of today
  • Chris Harold focuses on the impact of and response to opioid misuse in Waterloo Region
  • Dr. Kelly Grindrod shares how pharmacists and others  can play a part in curbing the crisis

Admittance is free and spaces are limited.
