Large Science interest at the 2013 Fall Open House

The Faculty of Science rolled out the red carpet Saturday, November 2nd for more than 2,000 prospective undergraduates and their families. The 2013 Fall Open House included a new presentation on health professions, an information fair, and tours of state-of-the-art facilities that included an introduction to the new Science Teaching Complex.

Quantum physics leads Canada Research Chair announcements at Waterloo

Roger Melko and Kevin Resch from the Department of Physics and Astronomy have been named Tier 2 Canada Research Chairs by the Government of Canada for their work in quantum physics.

“Quantum research is a strategic priority for the University of Waterloo and the research happening here has the potential for global impact,” says Feridun Hamdullahpur, President and Vice-Chancellor of Waterloo.
