Josh Neufeld wins 2021 Excellence in Online Teaching Award

Biology Professor Josh Neufeld goes above and beyond for his students. His use of clickers, twitter, and art are pioneering. His Halloween costumes are legendary. It was no surprise, when the Centre for Extended Learning announced Josh Neufeld won the 2021 Award for Excellence in Online Teaching.

New international rankings show Waterloo's high calibre outside traditional strengths

Waterloo is known as the best in the world for computer science, engineering and math but a new ranking of universities by subject says you should think again - Waterloo is world-class in many other areas, including tourism management, water research and physics. Waterloo scientists have played an integral part in Waterloo's global reputation in water research and physics.

New map shows where fracking-induced earthquakes could hit in Canada

Scientists from the University of Waterloo have developed a map showing which regions and population centres of Western Canada are likely to experience earthquakes induced by underground energy extraction.

An immigration app and waste plastic conversion technology were two Science companies competing in Concept's Spring '22 $5K pitch competition. The competition offers the opportunity for University of Waterloo student led companies with innovative solutions and high potential business ideas to showcase their hard work and compete for grant funding.
