Why I love my program

I applied for the Honours Chemistry program because I really enjoyed learning about chemistry throughout high school and I hoped to become a chemistry teacher later on. When I started the program, I realized how the program allows you to study different areas in chemistry and gives you the flexibility to focus in on an area of chemistry that you really enjoy. Also, the program allows me to achieve the requirements I need for teacher's college and complete a minor in Fine Arts. I'm in a small program, but I like that I can recognize faces in my classes. I also appreciate that I have the ability to do Co-op for my program, as it gives me real work experiences that I can apply to my studies.

Why University of Waterloo?

I chose the University of Waterloo because it gave me the freedom to customize my degree to what will benefit me in my long term goals. When I was looking at different universities, I was set on completing a minor in Fine Arts. However, the University of Waterloo was the only one that allowed me to complete that minor while still completing a Bachelor of Science. I also chose the University of Waterloo because of its co-op program as it allows me to achieve work experience in my field of study, which I can use towards my long term goals.
