Stream of study: Regular
Career goal: My ultimate goal is to provide necessary healthcare resources and equal access to marginalized communities, which I think I will be able to accomplish through professional school! Hopefully!
Favourite food: I don't know where I would be without McDonald's Chicken McNuggets.
How I get involved: In the past, I've been involved with Residence Council, the Volunteer Prosection Training Program, as a volunteer at RAISE (Racial Advocacy for Inclusion, Solidarity and Equity), and as a volunteer and Executive member at the UW Women's Centre. In addition to the Science Ambassadors, I'm actively involved with Waterloo Science Orientation, the Waterloo iGEM Human Practices team, and I’m currently a Research Assistant in the Vision and Attention Lab in the Department of Psychology. Off campus, I’ve had the opportunity to attend the Centre of Vision Research Summer School (located at York University) this past summer. Long story short, I like to stay busy!
Why I love my program
I chose my program due to its flexibility, which is a common response, but it's true! The ability to select courses from a wide range of disciplines, alongside the core courses that set you up for any related post-undergraduate endeavours, is a great way to create an amazing balance in your schedule! Plus, being able to have more control of my schedule has allowed me to get involved on and off campus!
Why University of Waterloo?
After being able to attend the Open House the year prior to my admission, plus going to some lectures with my sister while I was still in high school allowed me to acquire a lot of information on the community here at the University! Based on these experiences, Waterloo felt like the only option for me, and I have never regretted it! The Science Faculty fosters such a welcoming environment, and I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else.
