Why I love my program

Biomedical Sciences honestly feels like the perfect program for me. It gives me direction on what courses I should take in order to prepare for professional school, while also giving me lots of freedom to choose courses that interest me outside of Science. Of course, I get to do all of this while studying subjects I love and am super passionate about! I’m really interested in the human body and how it functions, and through Biomedical Sciences program, I’m able to take courses like Human Physiology, Microbiology, Embryology and more. Biomedical Sciences is also one of the bigger programs under Science, so you’ll be able to meet a lot of like-minded people.

Why University of Waterloo?

I initially started looking at Waterloo because I was interested in the Optometry program. I thought it was nice that there are two well-known professional schools in such close proximity: the School of Pharmacy and the School of Optometry and Vision Science. After looking at their different programs, I realized how Biomedical Sciences really catered to my interests both in and outside of Science. After coming here, I am continuously amazed by the passion and pride that the Faculty of Science has, as well as the kindness exhibited by students, faculty, and staff. Professors are approachable and helpful, and students are friendly and welcoming. University isn’t easy, but UWaterloo and the people I’ve met here have definitely made my time here amazing and one-of-a-kind.
