Stream of study: Regular
Career goal: To be a doctor, although I'm not sure what kind yet.
Favourite food: Anything with chocolate
How I get involved: In the past year, I have focused on volunteering off campus at a local cancer care centre and the hospital. Now that I am in second year, I am excited to be getting involved on campus by being a Science Ambassador and a cell biology (Biol 130L) teaching assistant.
Why I love my program
I love my program because of its flexibility. The required courses suit the requirements for many professional programs in the health care field (just in case I change my mind about medical school) and the ample number of electives allows me to take the courses I am interested in and easily fit a minor. I also really like being able to control what to do in my summers, may that be research, work, travel, take more courses, or all of the above!
Why University of Waterloo?
When I first came to UWaterloo, I remember being so hesitant in my decision of choosing it, but after first year I can genuinely say that I am very glad for the choice that I made. I have grown to love the motivating, passionate, and kind environment on campus. With about a million ways to get involved all over campus, and the opportunities in and out of the classroom, I'm constantly learning, growing, and experiencing new things.
